Our story is the story of our values.
When Taro Plast was founded in 1978, no one would have imagined the path that would take it from a small compounding laboratory dedicated to ABS coloring to being part of the global engineering plastics market.
Thanks to its R&D division, which has always been its strong point, Taro Plast was the first in Italy to specialize in the development of new compounds based on PC, PBT, PET and various alloys. The desire for innovation has always been the driving force behind numerous innovative formulations.
In the early 1990s, Taro Plast had the idea of using its technical expertise to develop PP-based compound technology. This product range had previously never been considered as a possible market, but Taro Plast was quickly able to develop a complete line of high-performance PP and thus meet the growing market demand for competitive alternatives to polyamide or other technical polymers.
At the end of 1998, the company was acquired by a large multinational company already established in the thermosetting resin sector. Taro Plast thus began its role as a producer of thermoplastic compounds for Europe under the Bakelite brand. In the following decade, Taro Plast continued its mission of growth and product innovation, becoming an accredited player in the European market for technical thermoplastic compounds
The collaboration with Bakelite came to an end and, after eight successful years within a multinational group, the ownership of Taro Plast returned to its founders: the Squeri family.
Taro Plast started the division for the development and production of Thermoplastic Elastomers, to offer its customers an even wider range of 'rigid' and 'soft' compounds. The spearhead of this new division is TPE-V (Taroprene), a high-performance product line.
Taro Plast launched a new division that develops and produces the Taroforce (long glass fibre-reinforced PP) range. LGF-PPs complement and complete the already rich range of possibilities that TARO PLAST offers the market with appropriate solutions for every design and application requirement.
Following the establishment of our US subsidiary - Taro Plast US inc. - in 2019, the strategy to build a strong footprint in the US market and to better serve our global customers was realized withthe acquisitionin March '23 of Delta Polymers co. Taro Plast US inc became a reality only a few months after the most important challenge in Taro Plast's history, namely joining the club of polymer producers with the acquisition from Celanese Corporation of its thermoplastic copolyester (TPC) and hotmelt polyester businesses, including the Ferrara Donegani site and all related assets. With this acquisition, Taro Plast adds its fifth production site with a production capacity of 10 kT of TPC, including the well-known Pibiflex® and Riteflex® brands, and a production capacity of 2.2 kT of hotmelt polyester.
The great circle of value
Our goal is customer satisfaction, creating a virtuous circle in which everyone contributes to the growth of Taro Plast’s value. Guaranteeing customers assistance and quality service also means doing ourselves a favor. Our satisfaction is to guarantee a quality service and every single element within the company must play a decisive role regarding the satisfaction perceived by our customers. There are no first or second class processes. Taro Plast is a complex gear that works to create value. If this value is perceived externally in the same way it was conceived internally, then it will ensure that we continue to have quality expectations and the circle of value will continue its flow, pushing us to improve ourselves more and more.
