SORAGNA – Taro Plast Spa, a privately-owned Italian company, today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in DELTA POLYMERS and CO., and its compounding division Amplas Compounding LLC, from the Beaupre family. The Michigan based company located in Sterling Heights, is specialized in thermoplastic compounding and distribution.
Taro Plast, based in Soragna, Parma (Italy), is a leading company for the production of plastic compounds, with a wide range of products from Engineering Plastics to Polypropylene Compounds and Thermoplastic Elastomers. Taro Plast recently acquired in November’22 from Celanese its thermoplastic co-polyester (TPC) and polyester hotmelt business encompassing the Ferrara Donegani unit and all related assets, including Pibiflex® and Riteflex® brands.
Andrea Squeri, Managing Director of Taro Plast Spa explains that “The acquisition is in line with our strategy of establishing our footprint into the US market, to better serve our global customers locally. Evenmore, the request from US market for our recently enhanced product portfolio including the TPC Pibiflex® and Riteflex® brands has increased and we are glad to benefit from the experience of DELTA POLYMER team to bring our competence and know-how into North America market”.
Taro Plast expects to conclude the deal during March, 2023; financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
